Hi all,
Just got off the phone with the mighty Trig from ITS Linux (who provide the server and bandwidth for the forums), and we were talking about keeping the forums ticking over.
It got me thinking we could do with a theme to hook in with the LUGRadio site, just as the Planet #lugradio does. Anyone want to create a theme? If so, create it, stick it online somewhere and we will hail you repeatedly.

I might have a go. You can follow my dodgy progress at http://mikeasoft.com/phpbb
Can't promise I'll get it finished though.

Well, it's roughly complete now. If there's any changes you want made to it just say and I'll fiddle around a bit more. When you're happy I'll make a tarball of the theme and upload it for you.

Schweet
Tho perhaps there should be a 'community' link at the top of the page rather than a link to the planet, and if the LR types were willing, that would link to a 'Community Links' page, linking to the map, wiki, clan and planet.

The theme looks great, but does the width have to be restricted in that way? The current theme uses my whole screen whilst the proposed one only uses about half...

Those two are really up to Aq, I just based it on the lugradio.org design.

Yes, but there's no reason that the forum stuff has to use a fixed width just because the main site does. The forums could still have the same colour scheme and looks whilst at 100% width.Elleomea wrote:tonytiger wrote:The theme looks great, but does the width have to be restricted in that way? You can grab the theme from http://junk.mikeasoft.com/LUGRadio.tar.gz unpack it in your templates directory (with the debian phpbb this is /usr/share/phpbb2/templates/ with a symlink to /etc/phpbb2/templates/), you'll then want to go in to the phpbb2 admin panel and create a new style using LUGRadio as the template and set it as the default theme (unfortunately this doesn't effect already registered users, I think they'll need to change it manually).

True but I'd have said the same about Planet #Lugradio and Aq wasn't too happy about us making that wider than the main site, so I'm just going to play it safe and leave it up to him
