Has any one checked out Angry Matt's Launchpod podcast http://news.launchpad.net/podcast/ I took a listen today, pretty good. Though I do hope more of the anger comes through in later 'casts. Not LR, but good to hear at least one of the gents back in action.

Yeah, wtf are the Linux Action Show lads doing? Small bitesize pieces of ass on Youtube is nothing like a decent discussion of current linux affairs. They're changing their target audience entirely, and I'm tuning out.
Linux Outlaws always seems too quiet, too smooth, too reserved, not enough arguing, little to make an episode memorable. Linux Cranks can be interesting sometimes, but the audio quality can be pretty poor, and arguments don't work well over teleconferencing I think.
Sad to say it, Buzz Out Loud is the best I've found so far, once I managed to stop wanting to throttle the hosts for what they consider humour.
I gotta say, the LR lads put a load of work into each podcast, considering it really is worth relistening to older shows. Fair play to them.

Re: Life without LR?
So.. after discovering LR from the /., trying out a few of the end of season 5, I started back at S1 and have now caught up to where I left off (which, incidentally, I can say is probably my fav - the 'egoless desktop sketch' is the closest thing to snuff podcasting I've ever heard). A few observations:
- An extraordinary piece of work from the 7 gentlemen - large or not.
- By Gum hasn't the world of free software moved on a piece since 2004. The first series describes a world unrecognisable now.
- Jesus that was some sudden decision. Whatever the reasoning behind it, thanks guys.
- Clearly, the big difference between the free and proprietary worlds is community. Understanding this is the biggest brick wall I come across when pitching to my proprietary-minded colleagues. LR was a great way to demonstrate what a community is about with a low barrier to entry, a void that really needs to be re-filled.

Re: Life without LR?
There is definitely a massive LR-shaped hole in my life. Especially when there's news, I really want to hear 4 large gents discuss it.
I think LR really set the right tone for the FOSS community too. I'm still very grateful to all of the presenters.

Re: Life without LR?
Ah but you see, it wouldn't be the same with different hosts, they wouldn't be able to really capture the atmosphere that made it so great.
It's left a big hole in my life. I was gutted when I listened to the announcement that it was ending.

You can catch Aq on the current UbuntuUK Podcast, talking about UDS and shoeing Jono, although maybe not in that order...

Re: Life without LR?
The thing I liked about LR is the enthusiasm that you guys present it with. Almost all of the other podcasts have presenters that are drab, dull and there's rarely any laughter. This is something I need when listening to a podcast. In fact I can't think of anything I enjoy more than listen to Aq pissing himself with laughter.
So where does the end of LR leave me? I have nothing left to listen to except Diggnation (which is one of the other podcasts delivered with enthusiasm), and a waining interest in open source (yes completely your fault!

If there ever was a case for a paid for podcast, this is it. I would be one who'd pay for the show.
