LugRadio - Four Years Old! - What are your fave memories?

Postby jono on Tue Feb 26, 2008 11:30 am

Hi all,

Well, LugRadio is four years old today, and what a ride it has been! I have written up a little something over at http://www.jonobacon.org/?p=1147 - I am sure the other chaps will weigh in too.

What I would to hear are your favorite memories and thoughts of LugRadio over the last four years - these can be segments in the show, LugRadio Live stories, community things that happened, whatever.

Thanks for sticking with us folks. :)

* I remember when animal noises killed my ears (well, that's not one of my fave memories)
* I remember when I had to listen to an episode twice to understand it (no... wait, I still have to)
* I remember when I cried out of laughter because of Aq
* I remember when the guys used to read out names of forum newcomers

Is not clear to me whether this is laughter at me or laughter with me :-)

Aq, does it matter? :)

I still remember meeting Jono and Aq at an event that we (SmoothWall Ltd, my employer at the time) had set up in Birmingham to celebrate the release of SmoothWall Express. It was that reason (well, the fact I'd signed up to the sblug mailing list to announce the event and track responses) that I found out about LR just as it started, so was in on the ground floor of the community so to speak. Hence my ridiculous post count :)

Great work guys, here's to many more years of communitisation, Aq's ranting ("Good Lord!"), differing opinions given (and slagged off) in good spirits, weird sound effects, summer hols = LRL, and just awesome fortnightly banter. We need a farmyard animal special tho :)

So many good memories, it's hard to count.

* Many incidents of LR syndrome on the train (most recently last night, with Aq being compared to a basketball going through a hosepipe)
* LRLs. All of them.
* Aq wearing Miguel de Icaza's skin
* etc, etc

Offering my compact mirror to assist the LugRadio Live beard shaving on stage.

I am still picking bits of beard out of it.

Jono: "We support alternative lifestyle choices on LugRadio. Even Adam's."

And Aq's report on the National Lottery Stop Firefox campaign made me laugh out loud.

The support call that turned into a mammoth effort to convince the National Lottery (I think) that Firefox was the same as Mozilla. I wish I could find that again. Hysterically funny.

I've just listened to that segment and it's brilliant! Well done, Aq, for your polite restraint at the time. :lol:

4? yesterday? Oh my.. I didn't get you anything :)

I guess time flies - but I'm still happily listening for the third year.

My most favourite memory still is when you read my email that said you all suck, and saluted me for sucking :) That's not to say that it was the best of Lug Radio, just mine own favourite :)
